When I arrive at nursery

If I arrive before 8.30am, my grown-up will walk with me along the walkway safely to the nursery gates and use the special button to let my key person know I’m here, the gate opens so I can go to my room. If I arrive later and my friends are playing outside in the garden, I can come through the reception door.

Mealtimes and rest times

I am encouraged to sit with my friends for my meals, I’m given choices of what’s on the menu for today. I always wash my hands with help first before enjoying a sociable meal. There are lots of cosy areas for me to have a nap when I need to so I will need my comforters.

Helping me to learn new things

My key person knows what I love to do, sometimes I need a little help, but mostly I like to show them how I can do things by myself, I love to explore and discover new things.

A member of staff watches me while I play, she uses the ipad to take photographs of me for you to see on parent zone. Sometimes my key person will put my picture on the wall or write about what I can do so you know how well I’m doing. This helps my key person to know what activities I like to do and what things I need to learn more.

Story time

I love to share stories with my key person and sometimes with my friends, they will join me so we can listen to the same story. We use puppets or sign language and we love to take part if we want to.

Our stories are exciting and fun to listen to, we often take them outside and read them in the garden too.

End of session

My things will be ready for when you collect me, if I have milk my bottles will be put back into my bag so you can see how much I have drank. I am lucky because I have nursery waterproofs, I will need to dress warm and bring my wellies if it’s cold but I have to take them home everday as there’s too many to keep at nursery. When it’s sunny I need sunscreen on before nursery and a sunhat. When I am picked up, my key person will tell you all about my day. Then we can go home through the nursery reception door and I can wave goodbye to my friends through the fence.

Baby daycare

Independence

I am allowed to join other family groups or activities if I want to. I have lots of choices and lots of opportunities to practice new skills and being independent. I will always be allowed to finish off my activities in my own time when I’m ready.
